Leawo iTransfer for Mac User Guide

Part 1 How to Add Files from Mac to iOS Device

Step 1. Run Leawo iTransfer for Mac and connect iOS device to computer with the USB cable. The software will recognize it and automatically detect the libraries, and show the libraries in the left sidebar. Choose one category and then the contents will be shown in the right part of the window.

Step 2. Drag and drop the files from the Mac computer to the window of the software; or click “File > Add > Add File/Add Folder” at the upper left corner in the menu bar to add files; or right-click the blank area in the window of the software and choose “Add > Add File/Add Folder” to add files from Mac computer.

Step 3. The software will start the data transfer immediately after the files have been chosen. The progress bar in the pop-up dialog will show you the percentage of the transfer process. When the transfer process is done, you will find the files in your iOS device.

Part 2 How to Backup iPhone, iPad and iPod to Mac

Step 1. Run Leawo iTransfer for Mac, and plug the iOS device into Mac computer with the USB cable. The software will automatically detect the libraries of the iDevice.

Step 2. Choose one library in the left sidebar, and the contents will be shown in the right part of the window. Click the transfer button at the right bottom of the window to back up all the files to computer; or hold “Command” key and click to choose files, then right-click the select files and choose “Transfer to > My Computer”.

Step 3. After choosing files, you will see a pop-up dialog. Check “Save to Folder” and click “Change” to choose a folder on your computer to save the transferred files. If you want to transfer the files from iOS device to iTunes library, you only need to check “Transfer to List: iTunes” in the dialog. Click “Transfer Now” to start the data transfer.

Step 4. The data transfer starts immediately after the files have been chosen. The progress bar in the pop-up dialog will notice the percentage of the transfer. When the transfer is finished, you will get the files in the target folder.

Note: Leawo iTransfer for Mac also enables users to transfer files from one iOS device to another, and the transfer process is just like backing up iOS device to computer. You only need to check “Transfer to List: iOS Device” in Step 3, and then the software will transfer the files from one iOS device to the target without iTunes.

As for the “USB Storage” function of Leawo iTransfer for Mac, you will find it easy to use. The USB Storage is below the libraries of the iOS device in the left sidebar. Users are able to drag and drop the files into the window of the software to add the files they want, or click “File > Add > Add File/Add Folder” to add files from Mac computer. The software enables users to put any file they want into the iOS device with this USB Storage function.

Part 3 Manage Playlist with Leawo iTransfer for Mac

The playlists of the iOS device is below the USB Storage in the left sidebar, and the playlists of iTunes is under the libraries of iTunes. This all-in-one iPad/iPod/iPhone transfer software enables users to manage the playlists with ease. Right-click one playlist to show the four options: “Add File”, “Add Folder”, “Rename Playlist” and “Delete Playlist”.

You are able add songs into the playlist or transfer music from playlist to Mac computer or iTunes library. Click the transfer button to transfer all the music files from the playlist to iTunes or Mac computer, or hold “Command” key and click to choose certain files, then right-click the selected files and choose “Transfer to > My Computer/iTunes”.

Part 4 Options of Leawo iTransfer for Mac

This easy-to-use iPad/iPod/iPhone transfer software provides several options to help users handle this software within seconds. The options are listed as follows:

1. All/Not in iTunes: This option helps users to know the files that are not saved in iTunes library. The option lies at the upper left corner of the window, and “All” is selected by default. Check “Not in iTunes” in the drop-down menu and then the files that are not saved in iTunes library will be displayed.

2. Show as Cover/Show as List: This option is to the right of the “All/Not in iTunes” option. This option helps users see the files in different ways. If you are not sure about the files in the window in list mode, you can click the “Show as Cover” button, and then you’ll see the files shown with the covers, and you’ll be able to choose the items you need with no efforts.

3. Smart Filter: This option is at the upper right corner of the window. The smart filter option will help users to locate the files they want in seconds. You only need to type the (full) name of the file in the smart filter column and then click the search button (the magnifier icon), the software will find the file you want.

4. Preview: The preview option enables users to watch or listen to the media files before they transfer them. The preview button is next to each media file at the right side of the window. Or you are able to preview the files by right-clicking the files to choose “Preview” in the menu. The preview screen will pop up from the left bottom of the window and play the selected file.
